Solidarity During the Pandemic:
Dance-Music Partnerships, Music Courtesy for Online Dance Classes

During this time of the global pandemics, we all have been forced to stay home and improvise our homes into an ad-hoc studio.  While almost all the studios and schools attempted their best shots in continuing the teaching and training via an online platform, there were many technical difficulties to overcome (such as the visuals, sound, video streaming software, etc), in order to deliver an experience that is as close to the one in a real studio as possible.   Besides the technical challenges, music performance rights is another hoop to jump through.  To keep the matter simple, most studios began the hunting process of royalty-free music that they can use for their online ballet classes.

Ballegro was approached by a number of studios during the month of April about their needs for royalty-free music, to be used in their online course productions.  We are extremely pleased to be a passionate collaborator and a proud music service provider for our dance community during this unusual time, and we thank our new partners for their openness in finding new solutions, as well as their vision in co-creating a new paradigm.

Ballegro is thrilled to be presenting our 3 major partners who joined forces with us this Spring 2020: Les STUDIOS of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, Richmond Arts Centre (Richmond, BC) and Ballet Hop! (Montreal, Quebec).

Les STUDIOS (Montréal, Québec, Canada)

Located at 1435 rue De Bleury in downtown Montréal, Les STUDIOS by Les Grands Ballets offers dance, fitness and adapted dance classes accessible to all audiences and for all levels. Classes are offered morning, noon and evening—within the universe of Les Grands Ballets. These classes are taught by the company’s dancers or former dancers and by reputable and well-known dance teachers. These classes allow participants that are 16 and older to explore all the benefits of dance and movement.

You are invited to dance move and let go through multiple classes such as barre workout, ballet, pointes, tap, jazz, Essentrics™ and multiple adapted dance classes. You are also invited to expand your repertory through offered workshops, or even start to learn a new dance with the 'introduction to dance' workshops.

Ballegro and Les STUDIOS joined forces as Partners in April 2020.  To support Les STUDIOS’ new online course platform initiated during the pandemic, Ballegro provided royalty-free music courtesy and limited-time account access to their faculty members, as well as offered an exclusive subscription discount for all the clients/members of Les STUDIOS.
